Ironing a shirt at home

Caring for Heavyweight Cotton

Heavier fabric holds up better over time, but it still needs to be treated properly to stay that way. Here's how we recommend caring for both the tee and the hoodie.

Washing

Machine wash at 30°C (86°F) on a gentle cycle. Don't use bleach. The heavier weave holds color well, but bleach will still break it down over time.

Drying

Tumble dry on low. High heat is the main reason garments shrink or lose shape, and it's harder on a heavyweight blend than a thin tee.

Ironing

Iron at a low temperature if needed, and avoid ironing directly over the print. Iron the reverse side, or place a cloth over the print, if you need to press out wrinkles.

What to skip

Skip dry cleaning. It's unnecessary for this fabric and can be harder on the print than a normal wash cycle.

Treated well, a heavyweight tee or hoodie should outlast several cycles of whatever's trending. That's the point of building it heavier in the first place. Browse the full collection to see the current lineup.
